Trail tools / September 8th, 2026

Good trails are more than a line on a map.

Following the terrain, avoiding the water, and learning how to create engaging riding experiences.

Good trails are more than a line on a map.

A trail generator can draw a lot of lines without creating a place that is fun to ride. Recent prototypes have focused on keeping trails above water, using the terrain’s contours, and reducing long straight sections.

The latest direction divides loaded dry land into districts, looks for under-served areas, and discourages tightly packed parallel routes. Mountain climbs and ridge routes still matter, but the whole island should get a chance to shine.

The tools and ride feel remain in development.
